16 Sep Fitness Has Come to Mantachie!
Fitness has come to Mantachie. We are an official CrossFit affiliate, CrossFit White Horse (Revelation 19:11). We do not have members or clients, we have athletes. Whether young or old, elite athlete or new beginner we consider everyone an athlete at CrossFit White Horse and our sport is fitness.
We believe a strength and conditioning program should consist of constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity for one to reach their highest fitness level. Our gym does not have machines. We use the machine God has given each of us and that is our own bodies. The workouts we perform are constantly varied so we do not get into a routine and hit plateaus.
The life we live is ever changing, therefore, to be prepared for the unknown we vary our workouts using functional movements. In a conventional gym, machines and workout routines use isolated movements. Isolated movements are movements that work only one muscle group in one plane- such as a bicep curl. Our workouts use functional movements that we perform in our everyday lives.
Functional movements use multiple muscle groups and are performed in all planes such as: picking an object up off the floor and putting it over head, lifting objects from the ground, squatting, jumping, running, pressing, etc. We perform these functional movements at a high intensity to increase cardiovascular endurance, metabolic conditioning, and to maximize our gains in fitness.
Our current workout schedule is Tuesday-Friday mornings at 5:15 AM, Tuesday and Thursday nights at 5:30 PM, and Saturday morning at 9:00 AM.
